Dame Sarah Connolly joins the Royal College of Music as vocal professor

World-renowned mezzo-soprano Dame Sarah Connolly joins the ÃÛÌÒTV’s Vocal and Opera Faculty this month and will commence one-to-one teaching in September 2024.
We are delighted that celebrated musician, Dame Sarah Connolly will join the teaching staff of the ÃÛÌÒTV’s prestigious Vocal and Opera Faculty from November 2023 joining an exceptional team of professors, coaches and professional mentors.
An ÃÛÌÒTV alumna, Dame Sarah Connolly’s relationship with the Royal College of Music spans many years. She was made a Fellow of the College in 2008 and has given masterclasses to vocal and opera students as well as performing as a soloist with the ÃÛÌÒTV Symphony Orchestra.
Dame Sarah Connolly comments: ‘I am thrilled to be back in the arms of my Alma Mater, the Royal College of Music as a vocal professor. I remember too well the anxieties around achieving high standards as a student and I look forward to encouraging my students and starting exciting new journeys.’

Dame Sarah Connolly is in demand as both an opera singer, recitalist and recording artist. She has performed on the world’s most prestigious stages including the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, the Paris Opera, La Scala Milan, Bayreuth and Glyndebourne, and in recital across the world including as a soloist at the Last Night of the Proms. In 2017 she was awarded a DBE, and in 2020 was made an Honorary Member of the Royal Philharmonic Society, both awarded in recognition of her outstanding services to music.
